Dan has been with Case | Sabatini for more than 25 years. As Managing Partner, he oversees all aspects of our growing firm. Dan personally serves many of our firm’s clients, and specializes in construction and real estate development projects. He received a B.S degree in Accounting from Robert Morris College, and he is an active memberof the AICPA, the PICPA, and many industry associations.

Charles, a founding shareholder, founded our firm in 1971, and specialized his practice in the areas of construction and real estate development.  He served as our managing partner for more than 20 years.  Chuck received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Penn State University, and has been active in the AICPA, the PICPA, and several regional and national organizations.  He has significant experience in business valuation matters ranging from acquisitions, mergers and sales of businesses, assets, partnership interests, and real estate.  He also has extensive experience in estate and gift valuations and has handled numerous IRS audits through the appellate level. He has testified as an expert witness in numerous cases involving divorce, arbitration, damages, corporate and partnership litigation and disputes, and loss of income/lost profit.

Gil, who also serves as Managing Director of Case | Sabatini’s sister company, CSD Financial, brings 31+ years of professional experience in the areas of finance and taxation; applying both his CPA and financial planning expertise in helping clients achieve their financial goals.  He joined Case | Sabatini in December 2005 after serving as a partner with another regional CPA firm.  Currently, Gil serves on the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden’s Board of Directors as Treasurer.  Throughout his career, he has volunteered a considerable amount of time serving on other non-profit boards and organizing fundraising efforts for organizations including the YMCA, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and the Roberto Clemente Foundation.  He is also the former National Tax Chairman for the Associated Builders and Contractors.  Gil received his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Dayton in 1980.  He lives in Robinson Township, along with his wife, Adele, and their three children.  In addition to coaching and fundraising for youth sports, Gil enjoys racquetball, tennis, golf, and playing competitive baseball for the Pittsburgh Rangers of the Men’s Senior Baseball League.

Debra joined the firm in 1999 after nine years with another CPA firm.  She provides professional audit and tax services to construction contractors, real estate developers, manufacturers, retailers, nonprofit organizations, and others in the region.  She’s an active member of numerous professional and trade organizations such as the AICPA, PICPA, the National Association for Women in Construction, and the American Subcontractor’s Association (having served on the Board of Directors for the latter two), and also serves as the chair of our firm’s real estate practice group.  Debra holds a B.S. degree in business administration from the California University of Pennsylvania.

Mike, a founding shareholder, joined the firm in 1973 and brings expertise in numerous areas to the firm.  He has experience both as a CPA and as a corporate CFO.  Mike currently specializes in various industries, including retail, construction, manufacturingand medical practices.  He holds an A.S. degree in Accounting from Point Park College, magna cum laude, and is active in the AICPA and PICPA.  Mike has also prepared reports and/or been an expert witness in numerous tax, divorce, product liability, valuation, and various insurance claims cases.

Mark has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting focusing primarily on family owned businesses. He has been involved in all areas of accounting for small businesses, and has prepared and assisted in the preparation of valuation reports. He’s also very involved in our construction and manufacturing industry groups. Mark is a summa cum laude graduate of St. Vincent’s College with a B.S. degree in accounting and a minor in finance.

Sean Boyle received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting as an honors graduate from Liberty University.  While at Liberty University he was a four year letterman, two year Academic All-American and team captain of the football team his senior year.  After starting his career in the accounting department of the subsidiary of a large public university, Sean embarked on a career of exclusively auditing proprietary and non-profit post-secondary schools.”

Ed is a senior audit manager with more than 20 years of public accounting experience working in a variety of industry areas.  He is significantly involved with our government clients and has served as manager on numerous engagements.  His current governmental audit clients include the Townships of Penn, Robinson, and Slippery Rock; the Boroughs of Crafton, Ellwood City, Forest Hills, Franklin Park, North Braddock and West Homestead; the City of Connellsville; the North Hills, Steel Valley, Turtle Creek Valley and Twin Rivers Council of Governments; the School Districts of Montour and Avella, the Robinson Water Authority; the Allegheny County Retirement System, the Allegheny County 911 Fund; the Allegheny County Behavioral Health HealthChoices program; the Drug and Alcohol Services of Beaver Valley, Inc.; and several other HUD audits and Single Audits.  Prior to joining Case | Sabatini, Ed also served numerous other public sector clients including the City of Butler, Slippery Rock Borough, the Slippery Rock Municipal Authority, Connoquenessing Township, and the Western Butler County Authority.  Ed is a graduate of Carlow College, where he received a B.S. degree in Accounting.

Rick is a financial advisor at CSD Financial.  Since 2002, Rick has worked to develop and implement financial plans for individuals and small businesses.  He maintains contact with our clients to revise plans based on the client’s changing needs over time and responding to changes in the investment market.  Prior to his role here, Rick worked as an investment consultant and representative for numerous major brokerages and investment companies, including PNC Brokerage, Fidelity Investments, and Dreyfus Investment Services.  Rick holds a bachelor’s degree from Robert Morris.  He has been involved in the numerous local organizations, schools, and charities.

An honors graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, Dave has performed several hundred audit, acquisition, due diligence, and Title IV consulting engagements for proprietary and non-profit schools across the country. Dave has been asked to present technical seminars at several APSCU, AACS and state society annual conferences on subjects as diverse as DOE composite Ratios, 90/10 Regulations, Common Title IV Compliance Audit Findings and the proposed revision of the DOE Audit Guide.  Dave’s 30 years as a financial professional include several years of Big 4 audit experience, and a decade of serving in mid-sized privately owned and publicly-traded companies in positions such as budget director, corporate controller, SEC reporting, and chief accounting officer.

Josephine, a member of our government practice, is a manager with over 25 years of public accounting experience.  She is a former partner of Rock & Rockwell LLC, a South Side-based firm specializing in governmental auditing.   Josephine formed that partnership after serving her government and nonprofit clients as a sole practitioner since 1999.  Her governmental clients include the Boroughs of Dravosburg, Glassport, Lincoln and Port Vue, Rostraver Township, North Irwin Borough Municipal Authority and the Perryopolis Area Joint Authority.  Josephine also does work in the nonprofit sector for Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce, Penn Trafford Area Recreation Commission and Downtown West Newton, Inc.  Prior to starting her own practice, Josephine worked in a variety of areas including high tech start ups, hospitals, and retail businesses.  Ms. Rock earned her B.A. degree in Accounting from Robert Morris University and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Steel Valley Opportunities Industrialization Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization.
