Daniel J. Hellmann, CPA
Dan has been with Case | Sabatini for more than 25 years. As Managing Partner, he oversees all aspects of our growing firm. Dan personally serves many of our firm’s clients, and specializes in construction and real estate development projects. He received a B.S degree in Accounting from Robert Morris College, and he is an active memberof the AICPA, the PICPA, and many industry associations.
Charles P. Case, CPA, Emeritus
Charles, a founding shareholder, founded our firm in 1971, and specialized his practice in the areas of construction and real estate development. He served as our managing partner for more than 20 years. Chuck received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Penn State University, and has been active in the AICPA, the PICPA, and several regional and national organizations.
He has significant experience in business valuation matters ranging from acquisitions, mergers and sales of businesses, assets, partnership interests, and real estate. He also has extensive experience in estate and gift valuations and has handled numerous IRS audits through the appellate level. He has testified as an expert witness in numerous cases involving divorce, arbitration, damages, corporate and partnership litigation and disputes, and loss of income/lost profit.
Gil Davis, CPA / PFS
Gil, who also serves as Managing Director of Case | Sabatini’s sister company, CSD Financial, brings over 30 years of professional experience in the areas of finance and taxation; applying both his CPA and financial planning expertise in helping clients achieve their financial goals. He joined Case | Sabatini in December 2005 after serving as a partner with another regional CPA firm.
Throughout his career, he has volunteered a considerable amount of time serving on non-profit boards and organizing fundraising efforts for associations such as the YMCA, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and the Roberto Clemente Foundation. He is also the former National Tax Chairman for the Associated Builders and Contractors. Gil received his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Dayton in 1980. In addition to coaching and fundraising for youth sports, Gil enjoys racquetball, tennis, golf, and playing competitive baseball for the Pittsburgh 50s of the Men’s Roy Hobbs League.

Edward S. Gardner, CPA
Ed is a partner with more than thirty years of public accounting experience working in a variety of industry areas. He is significantly involved with our government clients and has served as manager on numerous engagements. His current governmental audit clients include the Townships of Robinson and Slippery Rock; the Boroughs of Bradford Woods, Ellwood City, Forest Hills, Franklin Park, North Braddock, Slippery Rock and West Homestead; the North Hills Council of Governments; the Steel Valley Council of Governments and the Turtle Creek Council of Governments; the School District of Avella; the Robinson Water Authority; the Allegheny County Retirement System; the Allegheny County 911 Fund; the Allegheny County Behavioral Health HealthChoices program; and several other HUD audits and Single Audits. Prior to joining Case | Sabatini, Ed also served numerous other public sector clients including the City of Butler, Slippery Rock Borough, the Slippery Rock Municipal Authority, Connoquenessing Township, and the Western Butler County Authority. Ed is a graduate of Carlow College, where he received a B.S. degree in Accounting. Ed has a wide range of experience including nonprofit organizations, restaurants, pension plans and other businesses.
Debra S. Pitschman, CPA
Debra joined the firm in 1999 after nine years with another CPA firm. She provides professional audit and tax services to construction contractors, real estate developers, manufacturers, retailers, nonprofit organizations, and others in the region. She’s an active member of numerous professional and trade organizations such as the AICPA, PICPA, the National Association for Women in Construction, and the American Subcontractor’s Association (serving on the Board of Directors for the latter two), and also serves as the chair of our firm’s real estate practice group. Debra holds a B.S. degree in business administration from the California University of Pennsylvania.
J. Michael Sabatini, CPA
Mike, a founding shareholder, joined the firm in 1973 and brings expertise in numerous areas to the firm. He has experience both as a CPA and as a corporate CFO. Mike currently specializes in various industries, including retail, construction, manufacturingand medical practices. He holds an A.S. degree in Accounting from Point Park College, magna cum laude, and is active in the AICPA and PICPA. Mike has also prepared reports and/or been an expert witness in numerous tax, divorce, product liability, valuation, and various insurance claims cases.
Mark A. Ulishney, CPA
Case | Sabatini partner, Mark, brings to the table over 33 years of experience in public accounting.
His primary focus is family-owned businesses, and he is very involved in our Construction, Manufacturing, Real Estate Development and Not-For-Profit industry groups and has performed work for companies in several other industries. With close attention to detail, using a hands-on approach, he has been directly involved in all areas of tax and accounting for small, medium and large businesses. He has supervised hundreds of audit and review engagements and prepared and reviewed all types of small business and individual tax returns as well as cost segregation reports and business valuations. Mark has assisted in numerous litigation support engagements by performing extensive financial accounting analysis and has testified in that capacity. He has also performed several fraud analysis reports leading to the recovery of lost funds and prosecution of those committing the fraud.
Mark is steadfast in his involvement within his community and has served his church in many capacities, including Church Council, Adult and Youth Ministries, and Men’s Fellowship Group. Throughout the years, he has coached midget football, baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer.
Mark is a summa cum laude graduate of St. Vincent’s College with a B.S. degree in accounting and a minor in finance. He has served on several boards of directors, including the not-for-profit, Catalyst Connection. Mark is also a member of the AICPA and PICPA.
Mark and his wife reside in Greensburg where they raised their five children, the eldest of whom is an ordained priest. He is steadfast in his involvement within his community and has served his church in various capacities, including Church Council, Adult and Youth Ministries and Men’s Fellowship Group. He has coached Midget Football and throughout the year’s baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer as well. He has been involved with scouting and is a proud parent of two Eagle Scouts with two others on the same path.

Evan graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Robert Morris University. He has 5 years of public accounting experience and specializes in our retirement plan division.
Ruth Elleard, CPA
Victoria oversees all aspects of the advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns of Case | Sabatini. She works to develop innovative and cost-effective marketing solutions and maintains and enhances existing strategies. Victoria creates impactful proposals for new and prospective clients. She emphasizes on fostering strong client relationships, as well as establishing new ones. Victoria attends association meetings and events for construction, government, oil and gas, and career schools and travels for industry trade shows. She designs all Case | Sabatini ads, press releases, and is the administrator of our company website. She publishes our monthly email newsletter, crafts direct mailings, and continually engages the public through social media.
Case | Sabatini provides accounting and auditing, tax, wealth management, recruiting and consulting services to contractors, real estate developers, career schools, government (COG’s, schools, townships, boroughs, municipalities, etc.), health care practices, manufacturers, retailers, and non-profit organizations.
Natalie Fedorak, CPA
Scott Grant, CPA
Scott serves as chairman of our firm’s public sector practice group. His current governmental audit clients include the Township of Slippery Rock; the Boroughs of Ellwood City, Forest Hills, Franklin Park, North Braddock, and West Homestead; the North Hills Council of Governments; the School District of Avella; the Robinson Water Authority; the Allegheny County Retirement System; the Allegheny County 911 Fund; the Allegheny County Behavioral Health HealthChoices program; and several other HUD audits and Single Audits. Scott graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1988 with a mathematics degree, and returned for additional accounting studies in the mid-1990s. Scott is on the GFOA Special Review Committee (SRC) and is a member of the GFOA, AICPA and PICPA. His work with the SRC involves the review of financial statements submitted to the GFOA by governments seeking the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting program mentioned above. Through this work, Scott has reviewed the financial statements of governments throughout the United States and has gained knowledge of the current reporting practices for various types of governments.
Maryann Jewett, CPA
Susan J. Kennedy, CPA
Susan, our firm’s Certified Valuation Analyst, graduated from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, spending her junior year at the Queen’s University, Northern Ireland. She did post-graduate work at Yale University and received a Master’s of Science in Taxation from Robert Morris University. Susan joined Case | Sabatini in 1988 and is responsible for financial reporting and tax compliance, research, planning and preparation for corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts, and individual tax clients. Her business valuation practice is primarily related to estate, gifting, divorce litigation, and loss profit analysis. She is a member of the AICPA, PICPA, NACVA,the International Association of Consultants, Valuers, and Analysts, and the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts.

David J. Mesko, CPA

An honors graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, Dave has performed several hundred audit, acquisition, due diligence, and Title IV consulting engagements for proprietary and non-profit schools across the country. Dave has been asked to present technical seminars at several APSCU, AACS and state society annual conferences on subjects as diverse as DOE composite Ratios, 90/10 Regulations, Common Title IV Compliance Audit Findings and the proposed revision of the DOE Audit Guide. Dave’s 30+ years as a financial professional include several years of Big 4 audit experience, and a decade of serving in mid-sized privately owned and publicly-traded companies in positions such as budget director, corporate controller, SEC reporting, and chief accounting officer.
