Botanic Garden of Western PA

Ever hear of the Botanic Garden of Western Pennsylvania? Maybe not, but you will soon!  The BGWP will be located on 432 acres near the southern end of Settler's Cabin County Park, just 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.

Starting in 2008, the Garden will embark upon a nationally significant reclamation project to help mitigate acid mine drainage issues in the area. During this time, the Garden is launching its capital campaign to raise $30 million for Phase One of the construction.  (See below for a sketch of what the garden will look like when opened!)

How can you become involved and/or learn more? 
There are many ways to participate. Fundraising events are listed on their web site here. There is a plant sale in mid-May, a highly popular "Party for the Garden" in late may, and Open Gardens Day in July.

The Garden is actively seeking sponsors for its fundraising events. To learn more, contact Jim Dee at Case | Sabatini (412-881-4411, or via email at Dee@CaseSabatini.com). (Jim serves on the BGWP board of directors.) These events offer great exposure for (1) companies in the green industry, (2) companies located in the region surrounding Settler's Cabin Park, and (3) anyone interested in supporting BGWP's efforts to bring the next major cultural attraction to our region.
